For [personal profile] serrico: Your thoughts on LJ/DW fandom vs Tumblr fandom, please.

I don’t think I have anything to say that’s not cliché! I don’t think I’m a Tumblr fan, and I may never be, although it took me time to acclimate to LJ as well. As much as I appreciate pretty pictures of Dean Winchester and Mako Mori, I’m fundamentally interested in stories over visuals, and so I can spend a lot of time on Tumblr without feeling like I’m in fandom as I know it. I’ve seen thoughtful meta on Tumblr, so I know it does happen, it just hasn’t for me yet. I also like book reviews, which don’t seem to overlap with the corners of Tumblr fandom I’ve found.

Tumblr is very visual, I've found a lack of meaningful dialogue, so I don't do tumblr directly, I wait for my young friends to call attention to the good stuff on facebook...lol!
